Does Aid Really Work?
Last year the UK government spent £6.8 billion
on international aid for the world’s poorest. But over
a billion people remain below the poverty line of US $1/day struggling
to eat enough to survive. So is this a good use of our taxes?
Does our aid really work?
Join Brendan Cox, Special Advisor
to the Prime Minister on Africa and International Development,
and Liz Ford from The Guardian, responsible
for The Guardian’s Katine development project
in Uganda, who will be debating this question. The event will
be chaired by Paul Bernstein,
Managing Director of Absolute Return for Kids (ARK).
