The Break Up Wall
From the days of primary school, where holding hands constituted a romantic affiliation, to the complications of adult affairs, the ending of a relationship can be trying and freeing all at once. Divorce, separation, one-night stands, three months to twenty years. If it ended, whether it was good or bad, it always stays in our head – and sometimes, our heart.
As an honour to your past, and theirs, we’re inviting you to come and write down the name of someone you broke up with or who broke up with you on our Break-Up Wall. First name. Last name. Or both. The names represent the participants of the collective broken relationships of the community, neighbourhood and world.
OPENING NIGHT
The Break-Up Wall will open on Monday 12th October. Come and write your break-up story on the wall and take comfort in the company of others at The Gallery Bar, where special “Break Up” cocktails will be available for you to drown your sorrows.
BREAK-UP NIGHT
We’ll celebrate the closing of the Break-Up Wall with stories of breaking up - and perhaps making up - downstairs at the Gallery.Join singers and storytellers including Jonny Berliner and Laoise
Davidson for this unique evening of heartache – closure has never been so entertaining.
