JCC Bar Mitzvah Disco

For one night only the Adelaide pub will be transformed into our very own King David Suite. Transport yourself back to 1986, unpack your party clothes and apply the mascara for the JCC’s very own Bar Mitzvah Disco.

We’ve got food with hundreds and thousands, bubbles from the amazing five times World Guinness record holder Samsam Bubbleman, whose credits include the record for fitting the most people inside a bubble and whose celebrity fans include JK Rowling, Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Peter Gabriel and Jarvis Cocker. Ovations include: "Your bubbles blew my mind" Jarvis Cocker and "Oh my god this is amazing!" JK Rowling; visuals from our e-magician, BAFTA award-winning, Miki Shaw, sounds for you to bop the night away will be provided by DJ Kobayashi and DJ Moishe Moonshine – and live band Sexual Chocholate TM, who put the ‘och’ into chocolate and the ‘oi’ into noise, will be performing a selection of Bar Mitzvah classics in their own special way. And of course our very own Bar Mitzvah Boy – highly acclaimed New York writer and performer Brian Lobel - and his mother will be making appearances throughout the night too.

There’s no need to dress up for the evening, but if you do we guarantee you won’t be the only one.
