Contemporary dance, performance and live music
Hofesh Shechter, Joshua
Sofaer and The Destroyers collaborate
with us to create our second Arts Seder. Tickets are selling
fast – to avoid disappointment, please book in advance.
What is going to happen at the Other Seder?
The night is a mix of contemporary dance, performance, live music
and djs, inspired by themes from the Passover Seder.
The evening will kick off with performer Joshua Sofaer who
will perform a 15 minute solo piece, full of comedy, music and
wit, offering a contemporary take on the four sons.
This will be followed by a new commission from choreographer Hofesh
Shechter, whose 6 dancers will perform a ten minute
premiere, entitled 10 plagues.
After an interval with tunes by Max Reinhardt,
the 15 anarchic gypsy punk group The Destroyers will
unleash 75 minutes of wild mayhem on the halls with their mix
of eastern European / gypsy / Klezmer dance music.
The evening will end with more dj-based frolicks and freylekhs
from Max Reinhardt.
The whole evening will be compered and smoothly linked together
by comedian Judy Batalion.
What time should I arrive? Can I come for just part
of the evening?
The bar opens at 7pm, and will be open for tapas and drinks
all evening. The theatre doors open at 7:30pm.
The show starts at 8pm. Late comers will be admitted to the
theatre at strategic points during the first half of the evening.
(8-8.45pm). From 8.45 people will be able to wander in and out
of the theatre to purchase drinks and food from the bar.
Is the event going to be seated?
There will be seats available for the entire evening in the stalls
and circle. Seats will be removed from the front of the stalls
for the second half of the evening (8.45 onwards) to enable audience
to dance.
Produced by YaD Arts.
